Do I Need A Computer And Internet Access (Data)?

You do not need data to be able to access your course material. You will need a device, and you can use a computer, laptop, tablet, or cell phone. If you do not have these, there are public computers that you can use in places such as internet cafés and libraries.

All of your assignments will be submitted through emails, and some courses will not require you to write a final exam.

  • Textbooks
  • Old exam papers and answers

How Do I Get Registered For The Right Exam?

How you register for your exams will depend on which type of course you study.

If you are studying an ICB course, you will apply for the course through the ICB Student Portal, then ICB MACCI. You will then complete the Portfolio of Evidence, and then you can register for the exams, where you will be able to choose which exam sitting you would lille to write in.

If you are studying a NATED course, you can decide whether you want to write the exams once you have completed your three assignments per subject and passed them with 50% or above. Matric College will register you if you decide to take the exams.

If you are taking a short course, you will not write exams. You will only have assignments throughout the duration of your short course which will determine whether you pass your short course.

If you are studying a Matric Programme, you will have to register with the Department of Basic Education (DBE) during the registration period between October and January each year. You will then write your exams in the May/June exam sitting.

Where Is The College Situated?

There are no physical classrooms because all classes are online. This means your class is wherever you need it to be. There are registration offices in Pretoria, and Academic Support offices in Cape Town.

What Is The College’s Accreditation Or Registration Number?

Matric College is accredited by the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB).

This allows the ICB courses offered by Matric College to be recognised as formal qualifications.

The NATED courses offered at Matric College are offered in partnership with Bellview Institute of Distance Learning. This way, Matric College does not need to register with QCTO or DHET to be able to offer NATED courses, because Bellview Institute is registered.

Matric College is a tuition provider and not a school, which means the institution does not need accreditation to be able to offer their Matric Programmes

However, this does not mean that the qualification is not accredited. Once you have completed a Matric programme, you will receive a qualification with the SAQA ID number: 49647. This qualification is awarded by Umalusi, the only qualifications body that offers accredited Matric Qualifications

The short courses are not accredited, but they are offered in partnership with Skills Academy.

Should I Do Adult Matric Or A Matric Upgrade?

This depends on whether you have written Matric before.

Adult Matric is specifically for those who did not get to complete their high school education and write their Matric exams. Matric Upgrade is for those who have written Matric, but either failed or were unsatisfied with their results, and would like to improve their results.

Where Will I Study?

You will choose where you study, and you can study wherever you are able. Matric College courses are offered through distance learning, which means you are in control of when and where you study. You can study from home, during your work breaks, and even on weekends. You make the times work for you.

Does NSFAS Fund Matric College?

No, NSFAS does not fund Matric College. Matric College is a private college, and NSFAS only funds South African universities, not private institutions. NSFAS also only funds undergraduate studies, and Matric College does not offer undergraduate courses.
