Frequently Asked Questions
No, 15-year-old cannot write Matric. You cannot write Matric without an Identity Document, and you cannot get an ID if you are younger than 16 years old.
Here are five tips that could help you pass Matric:
- Create a study schedule
- Join study groups
- Study at least one subject per day
- Make some notes in class
- If you need help, do not be afraid to ask or attend extra classes
- Have faith in yourself!
- Be patient with yourself
Yes, you can fail maths and still pass Matric. In Matric, you are allowed to fail at least one subject. When you are writing for the National Senior Certificate (NSC), you will write seven subjects, and you can still pass even if you fail one subject.
In order for you to pass Matric, you need the marks of a Higher Certificate Pass. The requirements for a Higher Certificate Pass is:
- 40% in your Home Language
- 40% in two other subjects
- And 30% in four other subjects
