Release Date of Your 2021 Matric Results

The official announcement by Minister for Basic Education, Mrs Angie Motshekga, releasing the results of the 2021 National Matric Examinations,is the 20th of January 2022. She is expected to announce the results in a live broadcast to the nation. The release of results to the public, including individual results to individual students, will take place on the 21st of January 2022.

Your individual results will be available to you on the 21st of January 2022.

Previous Concerns About Matric Result Publication.

Although the Department of Basic Education decided in a statement made on the 11th of January 2022 that due to the regulations of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) it would no longer be possible to release results to public news outlets and newspapers for public viewing.

This decision was however overturned by the Gauteng High Court on the 18th of January 2022, where it ordered the Department of Basic Education to continue with it’s normal publication of results. However only students who expressly gave their permission to have their results published would see it done.

Students who thus gave consent will see their results published in local and national newspapers and on other news outlets.
