Where Can I Find My 2021 Matric Results in 2022?

Here is where you can find your Matric results in January 2022:

  • The Department of Education
  • Online
  • Your Mobile Device
  • Newspapers
  • Your School

The Department of Education:

The Department of Education has stated that you will be able to access your results through their website.

Registration is compulsory and must be completed before you can access your results.

Register to be able to view your results at https://www.education.gov.za/ResultsRegTest.aspx

Once you have registered, the Department of Education will have your results available on the 21st of January 2022, all you have to do is log on with your:

  • Examination Number
  • Your ID Number
  • Any other personal details that may be needed

The Department of Education is there to help if you have any questions about finding your matric results. All you need to do is contact the Department of Education in your province:

Online:

There has been some confusion around whether or not results would be published online after the Department of Education stated earlier this year that posting the results on any public platform goes against the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

However, this decision was appealed in Court, and overturned on January 18th.

This means that the Matric results for the Class of 2021 will be released on public platforms.

Your Mobile Device:

There are two ways that you can access your matric results from your cell phone. You can either do this via:

  • SMS
  • USSD

SMS:

Access your matric results as soon as they are released via SMS. To do this:

  • SMS your ID number and exam number to 35658
  • After this, you will successfully be registered to receive your results via SMS

Note: Your Exam Number and ID Number will be checked. If either of these is incorrect, it will not work, and you will not be able to view your results. The SMS costs R3.00 (Free SMSes do not apply).

USSD:

To access your results via USSD as soon as they are released, you must:

  • Dial *120*35658#
  • Follow the instructions
  • Answer the questions and provide your ID number

Note: Your Exam Number and ID Number will be checked. If either of these is incorrect, it will not work, and you will not be able to view your results. USSD is charged at R,50 per minute. (Free minutes do not apply).

Newspapers:

There has also been some confusion around whether or not results would be published in newspapers after the statement made by the Department of Education earlier this year.

However, newspapers are a public platform, and so the court’s ruling applies to newspapers as well as online platforms, meaning that the Matric results for the Class of 2021 will be released in the newspapers.

Your School:

Matric Results are always made available at the school you attended. Check with your school’s administration to see on what day they will be made available for you to view or collect.

Good luck to the class of 2021!
